Big Changes Happening at Parks at Texas Star
The former Softball World is undergoing an exciting transformation that players and spectators can all appreciate beginning with converting the dirt infields to synthetic turf. Beyond improvements to the fields, the City of Euless is also constructing a new building to house concessions and restrooms.
Improvements include installing new:
- Synthetic turf infields to replace existing fields
- Natural grass outfields
- LED lighting
- Facility for concessions and restrooms
“Synthetic turf drains quicker than natural turf, so replacing the infields with synthetic turf will help us avoid long rain delays,” says Director of Parks & Community Services Ray McDonald. “We are also changing the name, Softball World, to the Parks at Texas Star to reflect all the changes we’re making. The Parks at Texas Star Sports Complex is expanding with a focus on youth sports.”
With the growing number of participants in youth baseball, renovating the existing infields with synthetic turf will allow staff the opportunity to expand existing youth leagues as well as continue programming for adult softball leagues.
